Alex’s whiskey journey began in 90’s while studying in Edinburgh. Back then it was the University’s Water of Life Society that initiated a lifetime’s passion and source of learning, fun and cause for celebration! With family ties to Arran Distillers, he visits Lochranza regularly, while applying most of his energies at home in Ireland, working alongside Noel Sweeney, sourcing whiskey, organising releases and driving new projects as part of their Irish Whiskey consultancy, Next Level Distillers. Founder and chief commercial architect of Powerscourt Distillery where he served as Managing Director (2016-2021) he has become a flourishing figure in the evolving Irish whiskey scene. His favourite whiskey is always the one in front of him in the company of friends, enjoying stories and a song or two.
