By shipping samples, entrants confirm they have read and accepted the Global Drinks Awards Terms & Conditions.
You must use a reputable international courier service (not standard postal services) to avoid delays and ensure safe delivery. Couriers must be licensed to ship alcohol to the UK.
Entrants are solely responsible for complying with any country-specific alcohol export rules or documentation requirements.
All samples must be shipped Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) and clearly marked “Shipper/Sender Accepts All Charges.”
Any shipment arriving with unpaid charges, incorrect documentation, or non-compliant declarations may be refused, returned at the sender’s cost, or destroyed without liability to GDI.
Samples are imported for the sole purpose of competition judging and not for resale. Products are imported as samples for judging purposes only and are not for commercial sale.
All goods must be clearly described as “Alcoholic beverage samples for competition judging – not for resale”.
All samples must include a commercial invoice containing the following:
Importer of record (for competition purposes only and temporary judging storage address):
HS Code (must accurately reflect the product category to avoid customs delays)
Net weight
Bottle size (e.g., 75cl / 70cl / 50cl)
Number of bottles (2 or 3)
ABV %
Value per bottle: £1 / €1 / $1 (mandatory for competition samples)
Total declared value
Insurance is optional but strongly recommended. GDI cannot accept liability for goods lost, delayed, damaged in transit, or seized by customs authorities.
If damaged goods are received, GDI will notify entrants upon receipt. Damaged goods cannot be returned and will be disposed of.
Bottles must be securely packaged to withstand international transit. Leaking or improperly packaged shipments may be rejected.
GDI is not responsible for delays caused by customs, courier error, or incomplete documentation.
GDI is not obliged to confirm receipt of samples unless goods are damaged or documentation is incomplete.
All bottles must arrive at the address above by 2 October 2026.
